Description

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead and manage the quality assurance personnel across our Omaha operations. This role is crucial for ensuring that the daily requirements of the quality team are met across all shifts and for providing vital support to manufacturing operations to exceed customer expectations. A strong understanding of plastic technology for injection molding and/or at least five years of experience in quality assurance related to injection molding processes is essential for success in this position. This individual will report to our Corporate Quality Assurance Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Support the Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and take necessary actions to ensure ongoing alignment.
  2. Oversee daily quality assurance activities, ensuring all inspection requirements are met, documentation and reports are compiled, and physical part samples are archived appropriately.
  3. Enhance the manufacturing system by developing written procedures, quality alert documentation, and conducting audits of manufacturing personnel and procedures for compliance.
  4. Provide reports on various aspects of the quality assurance processes to relevant individuals and organizations as needed.
  5. Train, mentor, and coach direct reports to empower them to perform their responsibilities at the highest level.
  6. Represent the quality organization during customer visits and off-site meetings.
  7. Develop and implement audit procedures to deliver clear, unbiased assessments of organizational performance.
  8. Train and manage direct reports within the quality department, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety procedures.
  9. Maintain compliance and current certification for the Class 7 Clean Room, in accordance with ISO 14644 requirements.
  10. Support the organization with additional projects as required.

Qualifications


Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  1. Strong understanding of the injection molding process, with the ability to apply this knowledge to drive process improvements.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment; previous management experience is preferred.
  3. Proficient in gauge control, report compilation, statistical analysis, and root cause investigation.
  4. Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14644, with the ability to maintain compliance at the production level.
  5. A two (2) year technical degree in plastic technology or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience and/or education may be considered.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey quality standards and procedures.
  7. Ability to apply Lean principles to minimize manufacturing waste while optimizing process efficiencies.
  8. Moderate computer skills with a working knowledge of MS Windows and Office Suite; experience with IQMS and statistical analysis software (SPC and Minitab) is preferred.
  9. Demonstrated knowledge of basic measurement techniques and handheld measurement equipment; proficiency with CMM and optical measurement machines (OMM) in a production setting is preferred.
