Position Opportunity

The Quality Coman Manager will manage and support the administrative aspects of co-manufacturing (Coman) customer relationships. This role ensures that all customer-specific quality requirements, unique processes, and procedures are adhered to during production. The Quality Coman Manager will play a critical role in facilitating compliance, participating in customer-specific audits, and managing all required documentation, reporting, and data tracking related to Coman operations. Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Customer Compliance & Process Management:

· Serve as the primary internal quality liaison for Coman customers, ensuring their unique processes, procedures, and expectations are achieved within AFI.

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of each Coman customer’s quality and food safety requirements.

· Ensure that customer-specific quality protocols are properly documented and followed during production.

· Work closely with production and quality teams to communicate and implement customer-specific expectations.

· Manage customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring effective resolution and maintaining customer satisfaction.

· Participate in customer line, pilot plant trials and first production runs, often requiring off shift participation outside of normal working hours.

· Manage AFI associates, when needed to complete tasks.

Audit & Regulatory Support:

· Participate in customer audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.

· Assist in preparing the facility for customer and third-party audits, ensuring compliance with all customer-required standards.

· Support the implementation of corrective actions resulting from customer audit findings.

Documentation & Reporting:

· Maintain all necessary customer-specific quality records, reports, and compliance documentation.

· Oversee and manage required data tracking, reporting, and submission of documentation to Coman customers.

· Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required quality and compliance paperwork.

· Create and provide COA’s for Coman customers.

· Oversee supplier quality programs, ensuring the highest standards are achieved across our supply base.

Collaboration & Communication:

· Work cross-functionally with production, quality, and management teams to ensure adherence to customer-specific requirements.

· Facilitate regular communication with Coman customers regarding quality-related updates, process improvements, and compliance status.

· Address and resolve any quality-related concerns or questions from Coman customers in a professional and timely manner.

· Communicate quality challenges to your director when issues arrive.

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications:

Bachelor's degree required.

HACCP, PCQI, SQF, and other relevant food safety certifications are a plus.

Related Experience:

Three to five years of experience in a quality role within food manufacturing or a combination of work history and education.

Knowledge/Skills Experience:

· Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards.

· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Ability to lead and collaborate across multiple sites.

· Persuasive communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to read and write in English.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems (QMS).

· High attention to detail and the ability to analyze and interpret customer quality requirements.

Travel Requirements:

This position requires travel between multiple AFI production facilities.
