Applied Composites (AC) is seeking a Manager, Quality who will responsible for managing the Quality Department, including all Quality Engineers and Supervisors. Frequently participates in reviewing engineering designs and contribute quality requirements and considerations. Support the needs in gathering and analyzing data. Job Accountabilities:
- Work closely with GM to coordinate daily priorities and activities, resolve personnel and technical issues and provide exceptional support to the business unit
- Manage the quality control staff through effective management of the QC Supervisor
- Create, monitor and manage direct/indirect labor and capital budgets
- Provide status of project quality and safety issues to GM as necessary
- Coordinate QE/QC operations with the group leaders (daily) and identify & resolve resource, equipment and personnel matters
- Assist program management with solving program related safety, mission assurance, and quality issues & processes
- Lead the Continuous Improvement activities to identify and address "system level process issues"
- Manage “vendor base” quality issues and provide Source Inspection support
- Provide staff for quality related activities i.e. drawing review, planning review and Purchase Order reviews
- Support project reviews i.e. MRR, TRR and PSR’s
- Act as a customer advocate, ensuring customer needs are clearly communicated internally and expectations are appropriately set externally
- Ensure compliance to NADCAP Composites requirements and support NADCAP Certification audits
- Lead Kaizan, Lean and other CI activities
- Support customer audits and ensure the necessary resources are available
- Maintain and manage CPAR Database and ensure timely review and closure of CPAR/NCR Documents
- Maintain equipment control and calibration system, including management of calibration services
- Responsible for Quality oversight of system level testing including approving test procedures, drawing approvals, test fixture setups, etc
- Maintain a work environment that promotes teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement, training, challenging, mentoring, empowering, and recognizing team members’ accomplishments
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Job Specifications:
Education: Post-Secondary Degree in related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectation
Years’ Experience: Four (4) plus years of experience in quality assurance with a significant experience in aerospace and defense industry strongly preferred
Skills:
- Demonstrable strong analytical mindset and ability to make confident, fact-based decisions
- Expertise in quality assurance organizations within complex manufacturing environments
- Expertise with quality assurance and continuous improvement tools, best practices, methods and approaches
- Excellent understanding of ISO9001, AS9100 and NADCAP standards
- Knowledge of / experience in Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement environments is a plus
- Ability to analyze and improve process and create when none exist
- Explicit dedication and commitment to their responsibilities and a drive for results
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage numerous simultaneous projects
- Strong interpersonal style including excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel and PowerPoint); ability to work with large datasets and advance databased skills
- Ability to forecast issues to understand potential impact both internally and externally
