Quality Manager - Tier 1 Automotive (Stamping & Welding)

Location: Near Shelbyville, TN

Compensation: $110,000 - $125,000 Base Salary + Bonus Potential

Relocation Assistance: Available for the right candidate

Schedule: Monday - Friday (Minimal Weekend Requirements)

About the Opportunity

A leading Tier 1 automotive supplier is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead all quality functions at its manufacturing facility in Tennessee. This is a critical leadership position opening due to an upcoming retirement and presents an excellent opportunity to step into an established operation with strong systems already in place.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on quality leader who enjoys spending time on the production floor while also maintaining ownership of quality systems, audits, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role supports a facility specializing in metal stamping and welding operations serving the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the site's Quality Management System in accordance with IATF 16949 standards

• Manage, coach, and develop a quality team of approximately 11 employees, including:- Quality Engineers

  • Customer Liaison
  • CMM Personnel
  • Lab Supervisor
  • Quality Technicians and Auditors

• Drive quality performance through training, mentoring, and employee development

• Serve as the primary quality contact for customers and external auditors

• Lead root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Ensure compliance with quality documentation, procedures, and reporting requirements

• Support stamping and welding operations by resolving production-floor quality issues

• Participate in customer and certification audits

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment
• Previous experience with a Tier 1 automotive supplier
• Strong background in metal stamping and welded assemblies
• Hands-on experience managing and maintaining IATF 16949 quality systems
• Working knowledge of welding processes and quality requirements
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing quality teams
• Ability to balance production-floor involvement with documentation and compliance responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field

• Experience with:- APQP

  • PPAP
  • FMEA
  • MSA
  • Control Plans
  • 8D Problem Solving

• Strong customer-facing and audit experience
