Accountable to the North American I&C Regional Quality Manager, the Sedalia Quality Manager is responsible for Prysmian’s aluminum building wire operations within North America. The position is a senior technical professional for all aspects of Low Volt building wire for industrial and commercial building wire. As part of the Sedalia Management Team, the Quality Manager is also responsible for ensuring the plant meets its stated business objectives and maintains the plant’s ISO 9001 QMS.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Leading and developing a team of operational quality technicians, providing coaching with a See-Do-Teach Method, performance management, and technical guidance to ensure high standards of daily quality execution.
  • Assuring that all products conform to the applicable specifications and quality levels established by Prysmian and the customer.
  • Developing and implementing quality control standards, processes, and controls.
  • Directing the implementation and maintenance of the Quality System.
  • Leading and implementing quality process audits, including continuous evaluation and improvement of audit programs to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Leading and implementing system audits involving all parts of Sedalia’s QMS
  • Leading and implementing Product audits focusing on ensuring that the products produced in Sedalia meet all governing standards and customer expectations by design, operational specifications, test or performance data, or trials.
  • Reviewing and approving plans and methods for inspection, testing, sampling, and training.
  • Evaluating production capabilities through quality KPIs and driving corrective and preventive actions with proven verification and validation.
  • Recommending and implementing improvements wherever necessary.
  • Leading the quality culture across the plant by promoting and bringing importance to quality awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement at all levels of the organization.
  • Interaction with customers on various product, application, and technical nuances of the plant’s product offerings.
  • Interacting with North America HQ personnel for periodic information exchanges.
  • Interacting with the Sedalia team as needed for product quality and customer service.
  • Frequently walking the production floor, interacting with the employees, and driving process and product improvements while building alignment and creating buy-in.
  • Providing effective communication to internal and external customers on matters relating to quality.

Our Quality Team Values These Skills:

  • Strong understanding of ASTM, UL, ICEA, and other applicable industry standards relevant to low voltage building wire and cable products.
  • Ability to understand the technical needs of customers and communicate them effectively.
  • Skilled at interacting with all levels of the organization, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to lead and develop teams, foster a robust quality culture, and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experienced problem solver who engages effectively with customers, vendors, and end users.
  • Proficiency with quality tools for analysis and problem solving.
  • Metrological knowledge.
  • Proficient in understanding and maintaining ISO 9001.
  • Knowledge of auditing methodologies, validation protocols, design verification and validation, risk assessment, and mitigation processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. or equivalent work experience. Engineering degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing in a manufacturing facility required.
  • Strong preference for candidates with mechanical engineering and / or metallurgy background
  • Ability to understand the technical needs of customers and communicate
  • Internal nonconformities management
  • Sound computer skills, comfortable with a variety of software applications
  • Wire and cable experience a plus
  • Six Sigma certification a plus
  • ASQ Certification a plus
