Job Overview:

Quality Manager

MultiSource Manufacturing | Precision Manufacturing

Quality Isn't Built Behind a Desk. It's Built on the Shop Floor.

At MultiSource Manufacturing, quality is more than a department or a set of procedures. It's part of how we operate, solve problems, and deliver for our customers.

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Quality Manager who understands precision machining, thrives on solving complex manufacturing challenges, and knows that the best improvements happen when you're actively engaged with the people and processes on the floor.

This isn't a role where you'll simply oversee quality systems from a distance. We need a leader who can dig into root causes, work alongside machinists and engineers, strengthen inspection processes, and turn everyday manufacturing challenges into sustainable improvements.

You'll play a key role in advancing quality performance across multiple manufacturing locations while helping build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.

What You'll Do

Lead from the Manufacturing Floor

  • Maintain an active presence on the shop floor, working directly with machinists, inspectors, engineers, and operations leaders to identify and resolve quality challenges.

  • Provide hands-on technical guidance on complex machining, inspection, and dimensional quality issues.

  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions using structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and DMAIC.

  • Partner with Operations and Engineering to reduce scrap, rework, and recurring quality issues while improving overall manufacturing performance.

Strengthen Quality Processes

  • Develop and implement practical, repeatable quality processes across multiple precision machining facilities.

  • Improve new product introduction (NPI), first article inspection (FAI), PPAP, and in-process inspection efficiency.

  • Apply strong knowledge of GD&T, metrology, and precision measurement to support tight-tolerance manufacturing requirements.

  • Identify process gaps and implement sustainable improvements that strengthen consistency, efficiency, and product quality.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable customer, regulatory, and quality management standards, including ISO 9001, AS9100, and ISO 13485, as appropriate.

Develop People and Drive Accountability

  • Lead, coach, and develop quality personnel across multiple manufacturing locations.

  • Create practical training programs that strengthen quality awareness and inspection capabilities among machinists, operators, and quality teams.

  • Build strong partnerships with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to reinforce shared ownership of quality.

  • Promote a culture where problems are addressed proactively, solutions are implemented effectively, and continuous improvement is part of everyday operations.

Champion Customer and Supplier Quality

  • Serve as a technical resource for customer quality concerns, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Oversee supplier quality performance, including audits, corrective actions, and performance improvement.

  • Lead internal, customer, and certification audits while ensuring quality systems remain effective and audit-ready.

  • Establish and monitor meaningful quality metrics, using data to identify trends, prioritize improvements, and measure results.

  • Align quality initiatives with business objectives, customer expectations, and operational performance.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of progressive quality experience in precision machining or closely related manufacturing environments, including demonstrated leadership responsibilities.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field.

  • Strong technical understanding of CNC machining, tight tolerances, GD&T, dimensional inspection, and metrology.

  • Demonstrated success leading hands-on root cause investigations and implementing lasting corrective actions.

  • Experience with NPI, FAI, PPAP, and in-process inspection processes.

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, or similar regulated quality environments.

  • Experience managing customer quality concerns, supplier performance, and internal/external audits.

  • Proven ability to develop people, improve processes, and build accountability across manufacturing teams.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.

  • A practical, solutions-oriented approach and a willingness to be actively involved in day-to-day manufacturing operations.

Additional Experience We'd Value

  • Multi-site manufacturing quality leadership.

  • ASQ certifications such as CQE, CQM/OE, or Six Sigma Black Belt.

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and digital quality management tools.

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Quality, or Business.

Why MultiSource?

At MultiSource, you'll have the opportunity to make a visible impact on how quality is achieved across our manufacturing operations.

You'll work directly with talented machinists, engineers, and operations teams in an environment where technical expertise, practical problem-solving, and continuous improvement matter.

What makes this opportunity different?

  • Real hands-on leadership: Stay connected to the manufacturing floor and directly influence how work gets done.

  • Meaningful technical challenges: Work with complex precision-machined components, tight tolerances, and demanding customer requirements.

  • Opportunity to improve: Help build stronger, more efficient, and more consistent quality processes across multiple facilities.

  • Leadership with impact: Develop teams, strengthen accountability, and help shape the future of quality at MultiSource.

Ready to Roll Up Your Sleeves?

If you're a quality leader who would rather solve a problem at the machine than simply discuss it in a conference room, we want to hear from you.

Join MultiSource Manufacturing and help us raise the standard—one process, one part, and one improvement at a time.
