Hartzell Propeller is the global leader in advanced aircraft propeller design and manufacturing technology for general aviation applications – both piston engine and turboprop – as well as custom propulsion solutions for electric, hybrid-electric aircraft and advanced air mobility programs. In 2021, Hartzell Propeller acquired Tanis Aircraft Products to expand Hartzell’s heating products and expanded its offerings in the experimental propeller market with the acquisition of Whirlwind Propeller in 2024. Job Summary

Hartzell Propeller seeks an energetic and hands-on Quality Manager to provide technical leadership to the Service Team. The Manager will oversee all quality aspects for a Part 145 repair station. This position must be a self-starter and able to make decisions based on FAA regulatory requirements. The manager will be required to participate/facilitate in meetings to address quality goals and constraints. The manager also will be required to monitor contractor performance, and adherence to the contract and customer requirements.


Key Deliverables

  • Ensure Hartzell Service Center operates efficiently, safely and in full compliance with industry standards and FAA regulations
  • Provide  proactive leadership necessary to drive, develop and monitor critical metrics.
  • Provide leadership to ensure that the Repair Station maintains a culture of quality, FAA/DOT compliance, and customer compliance
  • Maintain all record-keeping related to the Repair Station

     - Repairs

     - Discrepancies noted during inspection

     - Service Employee Roster

     - Dispositioning of rejected and unserviceable parts

Requirements


Education/Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience or training
  • Airframe & Power plant certificate a plus

Technical Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with MRO and part 145
  • Experience with Quality Systems (ISO9000, AS9100, TS6949, etc.)
  • Proficient Structured problem-solving skills to validate root cause and implement corrective actions
  • Computer Skills (MS-Office, Excel a must)
  • Business skills related to maintenance operations – budgeting, cost control labor allocation, parts and inventory management
  • Project management skills
