Job Overview:

Description

 The Quality Manager is responsible to contribute to continuous improvement by following work instructions, making scheduled quality checks and utilizing tools, equipment and knowledge in an efficient manner. This individual is also tasked with ensuring all products are tested and meet specifications and quality objectives for customer requirements. This position is integral in that it provides technical and metallurgical support to the company’s internal and external customers. This position will require less than 10% travel.


  

The duties listed below are the specific duties and tasks that someone in this position must accomplish. 

· Oversee the Lab, ensuring customer requirements are met and that testing is carried out in an efficient and controlled manner

· Work closely with various teams throughout the organization (R&D, Sales, etc.), striving to develop and implement best practices across all Aalberts facilities, including those involving safety and quality projects

· Maintaining all calibration of in-plant gages, fixtures and recording instrument

· Complete ongoing trend and statistical analysis

· Assist in assuring all received product meets quality objectives

· Assist employees with root cause analysis and problem solving as needed

· Assist Production department in performing various testing as required by quality processes

· Maintain forms and proper filing along with keeping charts updated as necessary in the Production department

· Conduct PPAP’s on customer product

· Maintain all necessary paperwork/documentation in accordance with established procedures

· Administer corrective actions report

· Assist in training AP employees for quality-related matters

· Communicates quality concerns or issues to plant management

· Conduct inspection reporting 

· Schedule and administer Temperature Uniformity Systems and System Accuracy Tests

· Participates in management review 

· Perform other quality-related projects as required

· Conduct internal audits to IATF, ISO, CQI-9, Current Nadcap specifications, and customer specifications (CSR)

· Performs weekly manufacture process audits

· Review customer specifications

· This position has 1 direct report – Lab Technician at the plant facility

· Additional duties as required or assigned

Requirements


  • Education preferred: Associate degree
  • 5+ years of related experience preferred
  • Metallurgical experience preferred
  • Previous heat-treat experience preferred but not required
  • Statistical Process Control knowledge and conversant in the use of Minitab preferred, but not required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Hi-lo license
  • Proficiency in working with computers / comfortable using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in material inspection techniques preferred
  • Ability to read/follow detailed work instructions
  • Engineering blueprint knowledge preferred
  • Ability to obtain Internal auditor certificate to IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015
