Job Summary & Essential Functions

Plan, direct, and lead the Quality organization to ensure products are manufactured and tested to applicable quality standards. Own the effectiveness of quality performance, people leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives in support of Operations and business objectives.

  • Lead the Quality organization to ensure product quality meets customer, regulatory, and business expectations
  • Own the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) and continuous improvement of quality performance
  • Drive continuous improvement of product integrity by leading the use of CAPA, data analysis, Statistical Process Control, and Six Sigma methodologies while developing and maintaining Quality Control systems that support ISO certification compliance.
  • Establish quality objectives and priorities aligned with operational and strategic goals
  • Lead the organization in defect prevention strategies and systemic quality improvements
  • Serve as the CSI Quality lead and ensure quality requirements are integrated into new and existing programs
  • Manage the Incoming Inspection Team and provide inspection support when required
  • Oversee inspection processes, including inspection coding and first article inspection planning
  • Own and manage the ESD and calibration programs, ensuring compliance and operational effectiveness
  • Lead cross-functional Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts and approve corrective action strategies
  • Own Material Review Board (MRB) decision-making and ensure timely, risk-based dispositions
  • Ensure RMA and RMD trends are addressed through systemic corrective and preventive actions
  • Ensure organization-wide compliance with IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and J-STD-001 standards
  • Own the effectiveness of IPC and J-STD training programs and certification compliance
  • Analyze and own quality metrics and performance trends to drive improvement initiatives
  • Allocate resources and set priorities to meet quality performance targets
  • Promote individual responsibility for product excellence while fostering a positive work environment and setting the standard for effective interdepartmental collaboration
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for direct reports
  • Participate in recruiting, performance management, promotions, and compensation decisions
  • Provide quality leadership input into strategic planning and operational decision-making
  • Communicate quality risks, trends, and performance to senior leadership
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and General Requirements of Team Members

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of quality management principles including SPC, TQM, Lean Manufacturing, ISO, and IPC standards
  • Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvement initiatives and influence cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Strong leadership and people development capabilities
  • Ability to evaluate risk, set priorities, and make sound quality decisions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers and senior leadership
  • Ability to drive change in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Abilities listed in General Requirements of Team Members

 

Required Experience & Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with Electrical, Mechanical, or EET preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years progressive quality experience, including 3 years in a leadership role
  • Experience leading quality teams in an ISO certified manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ownership of quality performance and continuous improvement initiatives
