Description

Quality Manager 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Supervise quality inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process production, and finished plastic pots. 

  • Monitor product quality against internal standards and customer requirements, including dimensional accuracy, appearance, durability, and compliance with environmental standards. 

  • Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and returns; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (8D). 

  • Conduct regular audits of processes, products, and systems to ensure compliance with relevant standards. 

  • Lead and coach the quality assurance team, providing training and performance feedback. 

  • Work with the production team to establish quality checkpoints, inspection procedures, and process improvements. 

  • Manage documentation related to quality reports, product testing, and regulatory compliance. 

  • Ensure supplier quality through audits and incoming materials inspection. 

  • Champion a culture of quality across the organization through communication and engagement. 

  • Owner of Quality System and responsible for system improvements based on customer requirements or business needs. 

  • Develop and improve Quality Procedures and Control Plans. 

  • Create product spec sheets for new products.  

  • Lead internal teams to prepare for 2nd and 3rd party audits.  Compete any open corrective actions after audit. 

  • Ensure laboratory equipment is functioning as expected which includes annual calibration process. 

Qualifications


Qualifications and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 

  • 3–5 years of quality management experience in plastic manufacturing or similar injection molding/thermoforming environments. 

  • Strong understanding of plastics manufacturing processes, materials, and defect prevention techniques. 

  • Experience with quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, 8D, and root cause analysis. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality software (e.g., Minitab, ERP/QMS systems). 

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. 

  • CQE or CQM certification preferred.
