Job Overview:

 

The Quality Manager is the process owner of Quality activities at the assigned plant. This person will be the lead Quality contact for both internal and external customers and lead effort for ISO-9001 compliance. Leads the Quality resources at the assigned plant and works with sister plants to resolve issues and implement improvement. 

Works with cross-functional teams in order to assure timely response to internal and external issues and lead problem-solving and improvement initiatives. 

You will do this by:

  • Maintaining the Quality Management System in conformance to ISO 9001, including the role of Management Representative for the plant
  • Supports all Quality-related NPI process tasks and uses established systems to manage NPI projects
  • Leads PPAP/ISIR process including all supporting documentation to assure accurate and on-time submissions that meet customer specific requirements
  • Responsible for all Gauging and Test Equipment in the assigned facility, including calibration and measurement system qualification and analysis
  • Supervision of Quality Technicians providing direction, leadership and development opportunities
  • Responsible for Internal Audit Program, including Process Audits, Product Audits and ISO System Audits for assigned plant.
  • Supports external ISO-Audits
  • Develop and maintain training programs to support the quality system.
  • Leads the corrective action process to ensure it is fully effective to address internal and external concerns
  • Leads activities relative to Return Material Authorizations (RMA)
  • Leads activities for disposition of Nonconforming Material (NCM)
  • Supports and/or participate in supplier sourcing activities. Develops a system for supplier audits and qualifications as needed/required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Quality and/or Production Supervision
  • Demonstrated knowledge of metrology
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Working knowledge of Problem-Solving tools such as 8D, 5-why, and PDCA
  • Internal Auditor Training (preferably Lead Auditor)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or 5+ years of related experience in quality and or production supervision
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Core Tools
  • Experience with Lean application and PPAP process.
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T
  • Experience in metal fabrication

  • Weight amount that would need to be lifted, pushed or pulled: Up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to Sit, Stand, Walk Talk/Hear, Use Hands, Climb/Balance, Stoop/Kneel/Crouch or Crawl, Reach with Hands and Arms
  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
  • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
  • Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a give point)
  • Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
  • Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring in an object into sharp focus)

Work Environment:

  • Loud (Examples:   metal can manufacturing department, large earth moving equipment)

Work Location: 5200 Zenith Parkway Loves Park IL 

Shift: 1st Shift / Monday – Friday / 8:00am – 4:00pm- Flexibility as needed
