SUMMARY
The Quality Manager ensures products meet standards and regulatory requirements by leading quality initiatives across manufacturing operations. This role drives continuous improvement, compliance, and operational excellence, overseeing quality systems, audits, process controls, and cross-functional collaboration.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supervisory responsibilities include: training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, planning and other teams to integrate quality into the manufacturing processes.
- Manage all activities related to the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems. Lead the creation of documents needed to support this system.
- Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Oversee and delegate responsibilities for manufacturing departments in the Engineering Change (ECN) and New Custom Die (NCD) process.
- Coordinate the development and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Identify significant issues or developments during quality activities and inform the management team on what actions have been taken to improve the situation.
- Prepare and present technical and program information to the management team which includes but is not limited to: Management Review, Total Quality Index (TQI), etc.
- Lead resolution of quality issues and develop relationships with our customer base through mutual respect and communication acting as a facilitator to bring quality issues to closure.
- Required travel 10% of the time. Must be able to travel by air, rail, or car based on most efficient and effective mode of travel to accomplish goals and objectives.
- Oversee Corrective Action System to track customer and manufacturing production plant quality related issues.
- Manage and assist with new product launches along with APQP and PPAP activities, including the creation of Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA's, control plans, and First Article submissions.
- Oversee audits (internal, customer, and regulatory) and ensure timely closure of findings.
- Ensure compliance in regards to USMCA, Reach, and RoHs.
- Complete customer and supplier surveys as required.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product and process quality
- Oversee the coordination of the non-conforming material.
- Promote safe work activities by practicing good safety habits at all times, attending required company safety meetings, and meeting with individual staff members.
- Must be able to interact in person with coworkers and the public.
- Must be able to handle high stress situations.
- Must be able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 8-10 years of experience in manufacturing and quality roles, or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field (highly preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role (required). Preferred experience leading cross-functional teams in high-volume, manufacturing environments.
- Technical certifications such as Six Sigma, APICS, PMP, or equivalent (required)
- CMM experience (preferred)
- Previous experience with quality tools such as Kaizen and Six Sigma (preferred)
- ASQ certifications (preferred)
- Prior experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) (preferred)
- Certified Internal Auditor (preferred)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Familiarity with accounting, database, and Internet software, order processing systems, and Microsoft Office or similar products.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Routinely required to stand and walk; use hands to handle and feel; reach with arms and hands; as well as climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Specific vision requirements include depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to wear all necessary safety equipment.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Routinely work in noisy environment.
- Routinely exposed to moving and mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
