Below are the preferred skills, duties, and responsibilities you will perform as our Quality Manager. This role is intended to grow into a Quality Director within 1-3 years from placement.

Position Summary:

 The function of Quality Manager is to provide the necessary planning, organization, direction, coordination, compliance, and control of Quality Control portion of the Quality Management System. The Quality Manager will oversee the inspection employees in their department to help coach and direct activities for safe and efficient execution of jobs while ensuring quality is upheld and customer requirements are being met while managing costs.  

Job Requirements 


Education: 

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: ASQ Quality Manager certification(CQM/OE), ISO Auditor Certification; Lean Six Sigma Certification, NADCAP expertise. NATO QMS expertise.
Experience: 
  • Ten years minimum experience in ISO QMS environment in industrial manufacturing facility. Minimum 
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience.
  • Expert knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and managing the QMS. 
  • Driving continuous improvement and operational excellence through cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in APQP, SPC, FMEA, RCCA.
  • Leadership, communication, change management, process thinking
  • Integration of state-of-the-art technology, digital tools and data analytics into the QMS.

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Must be able to sign and abide by Company’s employee manual and confidentiality agreement.
  • Required to successfully complete a background check, job physical and drug screening.
  • Must be able to professionally coach and direct activities of a diverse team while being fair and consistent.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills while being able to motivate and manage reporting personnel, collaborate with peers, and report up to Executive Leadership as needed.
  • Computer literacy at a level of competence to be able to maintain employee records, update necessary production reports, and navigate through companies ERP system for necessary information.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Troubleshoot and Problem Solve, act when necessary to address quality issues.
  • Direct supervision for personnel reporting to this position with workload management, providing prioritization of tasks, and ensuring deadlines are met with maximum overall and individual productivity. 
  • Completion of employee evaluation on all team members at least bi-annually while providing constant leadership and coaching including daily assessments and feedback. 
  • On-going monitoring and evaluation on quality control methods and procedures to ensure positive trends in reducing scrap and improving first time yield while meeting company and customer quality expectations. 
  • Review data and devise action plans to address negative quality trends. 
  • Maintain cross training matrix for department to maintain bench strength and flexibility amongst staff. 
  • Ensuring the effective processing of all inspection documentation, processes, programs, and recording to maintain quality system. 
  • Representation of the company with external contacts including customer relations and vendor relations.
  • Follow, maintain, and drive company policies and procedures to include training on emergency services and ability to coordinate with the teams effectively. 
  • Any other duties requested by the acting Quality Director.  

Reporting Relationship

  • The Quality Manager derives authority from and reports directly to the Director of Quality Assurance.
