About the Role 

The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing all food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance programs to ensure that every product meets company standards and FDA/USDA requirements. This role bridges operations, production, and leadership teams to maintain consistent, safe, and high-quality food output. 


Role and Responsibilities 

· Manage, direct, evaluate, and assist subordinates in their daily performance by setting goals and objectives

· Possess a working knowledge of and ability to train on Statistical Quality Control and Statistical Process Control 

· Assists in the day-to-day operation of the lab as well as address issues accordingly.

· Maintains and coordinates total quality practices within the Quality Control Department.

· Will play significant role in day-to-day operations and will spend 95% of their time on the production floor working with technicians and plant personnel

· Ability to work flexible hours based on company needs

· Ensures compliance with SQF and other relevant standards.

3 plus years of experience in a food manufacturer & successful management/supervisory experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Understands the importance of all quality aspects of the food industry including but not limited to personal GMP’s, lot code tracking, product quality monitoring, audit records and recall procedure. 
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Highly self-motivated with attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication. 
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills with an aptitude for learning new technologies. 
  • Able to handle multiple tasks with capability of prioritizing and planning work activities. 
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness with the ability to improve and promote quality. 

   

Work Environment & Physical demands 

Physical Demands  

· Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time while performing floor inspections and audits. 

· Frequently required to bend, stoop, reach, and climb stairs to access production areas and equipment.

· Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25lbs occasionally

· Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hairnets, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes.


Travel Required

· This position may travel between different manufacturing facilities as needed, all located within 30 min of each other and may need to be at more than one facility on the same day

· No overnight travel is required
