Job Overview:

Quality Manager 

Recommend, implement, and maintain a quality system that best supports the activity of this Engineering environment. This will require defining and documenting standard work to be followed and audited, as well as managing all levels of Quality within. Quality is part of a cross-functional team with other business and engineering disciplines. Quality establishes the principles of product and service quality evaluation and control for the system. Quality provides independent oversight and review of the project deliverables throughout the lifecycle. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Quality Manager understands the principles of the product and control methodologies to maintain a stable manufacturing process that produces a product that conforms to the customer's expectations. 
  • The development and operation of the quality control system. 
  • The application and analysis of testing and inspection procedures. 
  • The ability to use metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices. 
  • The understanding of human factors and motivation. 
  • The understanding of Variation Reduction to continuously improve the outgoing quality level of the product.
  • The knowledge and ability to develop and administer management information systems. 
  • The ability to audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. 
  • The understanding and familiarity with product quality. 
  • The knowledge and familiarity with industry specifications/codes/standards. 
  • Assuring the implementation of the Quality Management System within Stanadyne, as well as for the maintenance of the Quality Management System. 
  • The Quality Engineering department is involved in developing and implementing systems to ensure products or services are designed and produced to meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations. 
  • Participate in the change management process to assure the products or services continue to meet customer requirements. 
  • Manage a team of highly skilled Quality professionals who understand of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, tools, standards, organizational and team dynamics, customer expectations and satisfaction, supplier relations and performance, leadership, training, interpersonal relationships, improvement systems, and professional ethics. 
  • Understanding of the audit process, including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results, and follow-up. 
  • Develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting, and problem-solving. 
  • Plan, control, and assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, which include planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling, and measurement systems. 
  • Plan, control, and assure product application, including design and manufacturing  
  • Thorough understanding of problem-solving and quality improvement tools and techniques. This includes knowledge of management and planning tools, quality tools, preventive and corrective actions, and how to overcome barriers to quality improvements. 
  • Acquire and analyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methods across a spectrum of business environments to facilitate process analysis and improvements. 
  • Understand risk analysis philosophies and methodologies and their applications. 
  • Understand readiness processes and requirements. 

Qualifications:

  • An ASQ-certified Quality Engineer for positions involving hardware or an ASQ-certified Software Quality Engineer for positions involving software. Previous experience is APQP and PPAP required.
  • Hands-on experience with precision grinding operations and Manufacturing processing
  • Hands-on experience with sophisticated measurement equipment. (CMM, surface finish, form testers, etc.). Programming experience on such equipment is a plus.
  • Experienced in TS16949 and ISO

Education and/or Experience:

 B.S. degree in Engineering and Business Operations, Quality. Advanced coursework preferred.

10+ years of active experience in a manufacturing environment.

Travel Requirements:

20% + travel domestic
