Job Overview:

As a key member of the leadership team, you’ll oversee the Quality staff, Quality Management System (QMS), and supplier quality activities while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Foster a workplace culture aligned with the organization's mission and values.
  • Delegate responsibilities with clear expectations, consistent accountability, and actionable feedback.
  • Mentor and develop staff to grow in both competence and character, ensuring consistent performance.
  • Support employees in planning and achieving developmental goals while driving organizational success.
  • Manage team resources and budgets (if applicable) to meet objectives efficiently.
  • Promote and implement organizational initiatives, driving improvements in safety, quality, and team performance.

Quality System Management:

  • Manage the Quality organization, including Quality Engineering and Lab Inspection teams.
  • Oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) to maintain IATF16949 certification, ensuring compliance across all personnel.
  • Coordinate non-conformance resolutions, corrective actions, internal audits, and continual improvements.
  • Develop and manage customer relationships to ensure clear communication of requirements and resolve quality concerns effectively.
  • Lead supplier quality activities, ensuring effective product flow, process improvements, and supplier audits and approvals.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of PPAPs in line with customer requirements.
  • Promote and assist in developing work instructions, procedures, and quality system documentation.

Reporting and Metrics:

  • Publish monthly quality system metrics to the leadership team and Director of Quality.
  • Oversee the implementation and use of SPC (Statistical Process Control) to monitor and improve process capabilities.

Training and Development:

  • Oversee quality system training programs, including the development and management of employee training plans and records.

General Duties:

  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support the overall success of the team and organization.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing quality systems within an automotive or manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of IATF16949 standards.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to mentor, develop, and inspire a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency in managing multiple quality processes, including PPAP submissions, supplier audits, and internal compliance.
  • Experience in implementing and leveraging SPC for process control and improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
