The Role:

The Quality Lab Technician is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests to ensure the quality and compliance of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. This role supports product integrity by identifying and troubleshooting quality issues, maintaining accurate records, and adhering to strict safety and compliance standards. This position interacts with the Production, Batching and Supply Chain departments.

What You Will Do:

  • Inspect, sample, and test raw materials, packaging components, labels, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with established quality specifications as established by Quality and Compliance and R&D.
  • Perform routine chemical and basic microbiological testing, including pH, density, viscosity, specific gravity, and water sampling for third-party microbial analysis.
  • Test chemical solutions and finished products as necessary to ensure they meet quality and specification requirements.
  • Conduct in-process and final product inspections including fill weight, color and odor verification, heat seal integrity, lot code accuracy, general appearance, and product-specific criteria.
  • Assists to identify, investigate, and troubleshoot testing deviations, quality issues, or non-conformances and assist with corrective actions.
  • Collect, analyze, document, and communicate test results, deviations, and quality concerns accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and organize Lab Records/logs, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), third party test results, and retain samples.
  • Calibrate, validate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment; support equipment and process validations (IQ, OQ, PQ) as required.
  • Manage third-party testing activities, review results, and follow up on out-of-specification findings.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Follow all laboratory safety protocols including proper use of PPE, compliance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS), batch formulas, and chemical handling requirements.
  • Assist with preparation of technical reports, summaries, and presentations related to quality testing data.

What You Will Bring:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or a related science discipline, or equivalent laboratory experience.
  • Previous laboratory or quality control experience preferred.
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of chemistry, laboratory equipment, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency with laboratory instruments such as pH meters, viscometers, balances, and related testing tools.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Good math, computer, and documentation skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and databases).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.
