Job Overview:

Entry-Level Quality Lab Technician

Put your STEM degree and lab skills to work in food manufacturing! We’re seeking a Quality Lab Technician to test food ingredients and finished products, investigate test results, and help ensure products meet quality standards.

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Hands-on coursework, lab experiments, and internships can count toward the lab experience requirement. You’ll gain experience alongside an established quality team, with opportunities to develop your technical skills.

Pay and Schedule

  • $20–$22/hour, depending on experience.

  • Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–2:30 PM, for approximately three months of training.

  • Following training, the role will most likely move to second shift, 2:30 PM–10:30 PM, with an additional 5% shift differential.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sensory, physical, and chemical tests on finished products and compare results against specifications.

  • Use test results to support decisions to hold or release batches.

  • Record results and corrective actions in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

  • Collect production samples, assist with raw material testing, and review Certificates of Analysis (COAs).

  • Check bills of materials and inspect equipment, storage areas, and sanitation cleaning.

  • Participate in programs that verify testing accuracy.

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), and required safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Completed associate’s or bachelor’s degree in STEM. Chemistry, biology, microbiology, or food science preferred.

  • Hands-on experience with wet chemistry, basic titrations, and standard lab equipment through coursework, internships, or employment.

  • Food industry experience, including foodservice work involving food safety procedures. Food manufacturing experience is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, and willingness to learn.

  • Comfortable working independently, collaborating with production teams, and wearing required lab PPE.

Most work takes place in the lab, with some sample collection and testing on the production floor.
