POSITION SUMMARY: Work with manufacturing groups to provide quality control services in support of achieving 100% quality production, continually improve manufacturing processes and assure customer satisfaction. This position will report directly to the Quality Working Group Leader.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Participate in inspection activities that support first article (templates, records, etc.), in-process, quality release, final inspections, comprehensive dimensional inspections;
- Assist manufacturing with troubleshooting product quality problems;
- Document non-conformities to customer requirements and work with responsible person(s) as assigned to resolve;
- Create, validate and save inspection procedures for quality and manufacturing, as well as other quality documents and records;
- Assist in audits of the group, processes, product or documentation;
- Assist in cause and corrective action investigation;
- Assist or perform capability studies, GR&R studies when needed;
- Participate in Quality team meetings;
- Participate in projects as assigned to ensure customer product quality requirements are maintained;
- Adhere to Employee’s responsibilities outlined in Cygnus’ Health & Safety Policy.
Additional Skills & Responsibilities:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a machining or fabrication environment, preferably having some experience working with measurement equipment;
- Strong ability to interpret blueprints with some exposure to geometric tolerancing;
- Basic familiarity with measurement equipment;
- Exposure to technical math, mechanical abilities, with writing and reading abilities;
- Able to work under stress and deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Good organizational skills;
- Able to analyze and problem-solve;
- Service attitude, commitment to quality;
- Able to work independently and with others at all levels; good communication skills;
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and documentation;
- Exposure to ISO9001, ISO13485, AS9100 or equivalent standards desired;
- Ability to work overtime as required;
- Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment (including hot, cold and/or noisy areas);
- Frequent hand to finger, handle, feel objects & tools, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking and hearing;
- Physically submit to periodic drug tests (employment is contingent upon favorable results)
