Job Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY:   Work with manufacturing groups to provide quality control services in support of achieving 100% quality production, continually improve manufacturing processes and assure customer satisfaction.  This position will report directly to the Quality Working Group Leader.

 Essential Responsibilities:

  • Participate in inspection activities that support first article (templates, records, etc.), in-process, quality release, final inspections, comprehensive dimensional inspections;
  • Assist manufacturing with troubleshooting product quality problems;
  • Document non-conformities to customer requirements and work with responsible person(s) as assigned to resolve;
  • Create, validate and save inspection procedures for quality and manufacturing, as well as other quality documents and records;
  • Assist in audits of the group, processes, product or documentation;
  • Assist in cause and corrective action investigation;
  • Assist or perform capability studies, GR&R studies when needed; 
  • Participate in Quality team meetings;
  • Participate in projects as assigned to ensure customer product quality requirements are maintained;
  • Adhere to Employee’s responsibilities outlined in Cygnus’ Health & Safety Policy.

 Additional Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a machining or fabrication environment, preferably having some experience working with measurement equipment;
  • Strong ability to interpret blueprints with some exposure to geometric tolerancing;
  • Basic familiarity with measurement equipment;
  • Exposure to technical math, mechanical abilities, with writing and reading abilities;
  • Able to work under stress and deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Good organizational skills;
  • Able to analyze and problem-solve;
  • Service attitude, commitment to quality;
  • Able to work independently and with others at all levels; good communication skills;
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and documentation;
  • Exposure to ISO9001, ISO13485, AS9100 or equivalent standards desired;
  • Ability to work overtime as required; 
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment (including hot, cold and/or noisy areas);
  • Frequent hand to finger, handle, feel objects & tools, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking and hearing;
  • Physically submit to periodic drug tests (employment is contingent upon favorable results)
