Quality Inspector
Facility: Trenton Plants, Run Flat/Tire Division
General Description
The Quality Inspector is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the shop floor ensuring the production of a quality product. The Quality Inspector is a hands-on position where he or she will be expected to spend a majority of the shift on the shop floor working with the Operators to make sure proper production and quality procedures are followed. He or she will also be responsible for recommending and implementing methods to improve quality in the department.
Specific Duties
• Follow all applicable environmental, health and safety rules and procedures and immediately report all dangerous situations, near-misses, and injuries.
• Participate in developing and updating risk assessments and review all applicable risk assessments annually.
• Make sure all product produced meets quality standards.
• Document daily all quality issues within the plant. Prepare reports that will be distributed and/or posted weekly for management to review.
• Train Operators on new quality procedures and standards. Conduct random workstation audits to ensure Operators are following procedures.
• Conduct incoming and outgoing inspections of shipments.
• Communicate all quality issues to upper management.
• Be flexible to work opposite shifts as required.
• Communicate professionally with everyone in the plant, including office employees and shop floor employees. Utilize a translator to communicate with non-English speaking employees.
• Work overtime as required.
• Follow instruction from the Supervisor.

Qualifications
• Previous experience working in a production environment preferred.
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing/assembly drawings is preferred.
• Basic computer/PC skills is a plus.
• Must be able to work in an un-airconditioned environment for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
• Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
• HS Diploma or GED.

The employee frequently is required to sit; walk, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, for viewing a computer terminal distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception vision for driving and ability to adjust focus.
This position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions

The following list of PPE is required while in the manufacturing area.
• Safety Glasses conforming to ANSI Z87.1 or higher
• Steel Toe Safety Shoes conforming to OSHA General Industry Standards 29 CFR 1910
• Hearing protection conforming to OSHA General Industry Standards 29 CFR 1910
