Type of Position:
6-month contract position initially (contract could be extended, likely to end up direct hire long term).
Candidate Requirements:
This position is with a major defense contractor and requires candidates to be either U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents (Green Card holders). Candidates on CPT, OPT, H-1B, or TN visas are not eligible. The company is not open to corp-to-corp (C2C) or corp-to-hire (C2H) arrangements.

Compensation:
$23.00/hr to start (this will go up over time).

Job Description:
HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a company serving the aerospace and defense industry. We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Quality Inspector to support our microelectronics production operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that electronic assemblies and components meet rigorous quality standards, particularly in high-reliability applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting solder joints, PCBs, and other electrical components under a microscope for most of the workday. A strong understanding of IPC-A-610, J-STD, ISO 9001, and structured quality management systems is essential. Familiarity with microelectronics, MMIC technology, and defense/aerospace manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Inspection and Testing:
• Perform microscopic inspections on raw materials, assemblies, and finished products, with a focus on solder joint quality and PCB assembly.
• Verify adherence to quality standards and specifications using precision measuring tools and test equipment.
• Apply IPC-A-610 and J-STD inspection criteria to ensure conformance to workmanship standards.
• Provide detailed feedback on electrical components and observed defects to relevant stakeholders.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Document inspection results, test data, and any non-conformities discovered during inspections.
• Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and recommend appropriate actions for resolution.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and audits in compliance with regulatory and company guidelines.
Non-Conformance Management:
• Identify and communicate non-conforming products, processes, or materials to the appropriate departments or stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate root causes of non-conformities and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Track and monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and verify their implementation.
Process Improvement:
• Continuously evaluate quality control procedures, processes, and documentation to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Propose and implement enhancements to streamline operations, enhance quality, and reduce waste.
• Participate in quality-related meetings, discussions, and initiatives to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Compliance and Standards:
• Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and external regulatory standards including ISO 9001.
• Assist during internal and external audits, providing necessary records and technical documentation.
• Stay current on evolving standards and industry best practices in quality inspection and microelectronics.
Qualifications / Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED; additional technical certifications or training in quality inspection or related field is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Quality Inspector or similar role in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong knowledge of quality control techniques, inspection methods, and tools. Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD, and ISO 9001 standards is highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience inspecting microelectronics, MMICs, and solder joints under a microscope.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Proficient in reading technical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
• Attention to detail and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively report findings and collaborate with team members.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in using computer software and applications for documentation and reporting.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
• This role will work on 9/80 schedule (9-hour days, every other Friday off). 7:30am to 5:00pm is our standard schedule.
• There may be occasional overtime in this role. Any OT will be paid at 1.5x.
• This will be an on-site role.
