Description

Position Summary:

Performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products. Inspects materials, parts and products at different stages of production. Responsible for all activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements; conducts audits and reviews/analyzes data and documentation. Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Performs Quality inspections in a manner that ensures all quality and production standards are met and the final product meets RECARO engineering specifications, customer, and regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA, LBA, and other CAA) and OEM (Airbus and Boeing) specifications.
  • Periodically performs quality assurance inspections of production process.
  • Assists and offers solutions for the successful resolution of quality issues. Suggests new and improved methods for continuous improvement of the quality management system.
  • Performs incoming inspection of all materials from Recaro GmbH & Co. and outside suppliers.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of the Quality Management Manual and relevant procedures and follows all guidelines as defined by ISO9001/AS9100, Airbus and Boeing requirements, customer requirements, FAA and other regulatory authorities.
  • Maintains quality statistics, charts defects and nonconformities utilizing computer system. Maintains all relevant documentation.
  • Is a MRB board member, periodically calls MRB Meeting and is part of the decision making process. Prepares periodic reports pertaining to quality issues and their resolution.
  • Submits MRB’s and rejection reports concerning changes of assembly and/or materials.
  • Proficient in SAP and RECARO PLM systems 
  • Trains others as required.
  • Performs conformity inspection on test articles (seats and flammability coupons).


Requirements

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent
  • At least 5 to 8 years of experience in standard concepts, practices, and procedures. At least 3-5 years of experience with inspection of aircraft parts/seats.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision in all Quality areas (i.e.. FAI seats, FAI Parts, Receiving, Receiving BFE, final inspection, etc.).
  • Must be able to read engineering drawings and bill of materials (BoM), complete basic statistical computations, write detailed reports, understand and apply the requirements of the Quality Management Manual
  • Must be able to use quality measuring tools, such as such as callipers, scales, tapes measures, micrometers and FARO ARM.
  • Familiarity with products, its composition and the methods of production as well as an in-depth knowledge of quality guidelines, including customer requirements regulatory requirements and procedures
  • Be able to use considerable judgement and discretion in the discharge of your duties.
  • This position is a senior level position requiring detailed knowledge of both the production process and the quality requirements.
  • Must have eligibility/qualification for delegation as Company Representative for FAA TSO certified products and Certifying Staff for ETSO certified Production articles
