Job Summary:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting cut, formed, welded, machined parts, and assemblies to ensure adherence to engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires attention to detail, technical knowledge, and the ability to use precision measuring instruments effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze engineering drawings to determine part conformity, including: Weld symbols, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T, and print legends and notations
  • Use measuring instruments to verify product specifications, such as: micrometers, calipers, gauge blocks, pin gauges, tape measures, dial indicators
  • Identify fine details.
  • Process production reject tags and issue Quality Holds for nonconforming materials.
  • Maintain accurate product disposition using FileMaker and other basic computer systems.
  • Investigate out-of-process activities and assist with containment of nonconforming materials.
  • Review process check sheets for accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct part verification inspections and collect data.
  • Audit defined processes to ensure adherence to established standards.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Prior manufacturing experience, particularly in quality inspection (preferred).
  • Basic blueprint reading and interpretation of welding symbols.
  • Proficiency with measurement tools relevant to quality inspection.
  • Familiarity with computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (preferred).
  • Ability to use a tape measure.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug screen
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
