Quality Control Inspector

Nelson Engineering is an established aerospace manufacturing company seeking an inspector with AS9102 FAIR & tool calibration experience.

Workday hours are 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Thursday – (4 ten-hour days). We offer competitive health benefits, 401K, paid holidays and paid personal time.

Position Summary:

This position requires an experienced individual that can accurately & consistently measure multiple features of machined and fabricated aerospace parts using micrometers, calipers, dial test indicators & height stands, as well as other precision measuring devices & equipment i.e. CMM & Comparator.

This position is also responsible for maintaining calibration logs for all precision measuring instruments & gages.

Compensation is based on experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Read and understand blueprints and specifications
Use precision measuring instruments to validate machined and fabricated parts
Maintainconstant, acceptable levels of individual quality and performance
Maintain a clean organized work area
Ability and willingness to perform tasks as requested by management

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred 5+ years prior work experience as an inspector in an aerospace environment or shop-related work
Experience with first article inspection (AS9102)
Ability to read and understand blueprints, apply G, D, & T
Must have an attention to detail
Knowledge of common precision inspection tools
Effective oral and written communication skills
Strong work ethic, ability to work independently and as part of a team
