Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Quality Inspector will ensure consistent quality of production that meets or exceeds customer standards by helping to enforce good manufacturing practices. This includes performing off-line quality inspections on parts and packaging for new programs.
This is a 3rd Shift position, with core work hours from 11:00pm-7:30am, Sunday-Thursday. Must be able to work overtime as needed, and may be asked to work a flexed schedule as needed.
JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Offline quality inspection of the following product:
- Safe Launch of new program parts
- Non-Safe Launch Product:
- Parts with recent customer defects/issues
- Parts with a known history of quality issues
- Helping to ensure part Work Instructions are followed, including correct packaging and labeling
- Communication with Shipping to prioritize inspection order
- Communication with the Program Management and Quality departments for new program specifications
- Communication with Team Leaders, Quality Techs, and Shift Supervisors on any potential quality issue
- Data Entry using SPC
- Ensuring compliance with all Environmental Requirements and Policies
- Reporting all Environmental incidents to the immediate supervisor
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED Required.
- Must be able to work full-time 3rd shift Sunday-Thursday, with core work hours from 11:00pm-7:30am. Must also be able to work overtime as required/requested by the Supervisor to support the production schedule. May be asked to work flexible hours as needed.
- One to three months of plastic injection molding experience and/or training is preferred.
- Must have inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Understanding of our products and or demonstrated ability to learn and maintain product knowledge.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have good computer skills. This would be on Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must be able to work overtime as required to support the production schedule. May be asked to work flexible hours as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to be a reliable, responsible team player focused on producing a top-quality product.
- Must be able to follow directions and complete tasks correctly, on time, as assigned.
- Knowledge of micrometers and gauges is a plus.
- Ability to communicate professionally to management, customers, and employees in a professional manner, both through written and verbal communications.
- Knowledge or ability to comprehend, follow, adhere to, and communicate part work instructions, including correct packaging and labeling.
