Job title: Quality Inspector

Location: Willoughby, OH

Pay: $30–$38/hr, based on experience

Shift: M-F 6:30am to 4:30pm (30 min unpaid lunch) OT voluntary Sat

Hartman Personnel Services is hiring an experienced Quality Inspector for a precision manufacturer in Willoughby, OH.

Parts are typically held to tolerances of ±.015", ±.010", and ±.005", with many parts as tight as ±.0002". Measurements are commonly recorded to four decimal places on inspection reports (example: print shows .250 ± .005, inspection report records .2497).

Responsibilities:

• Inspect precision machined parts using hand tools including micrometers, calipers, bore gages, thread gages, and dial indicators
• Operate optical comparators to check angles, radii, and length-from-angle dimensions
• Read and interpret blueprints with strong GD&T knowledge
• Record detailed inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
• Work directly with machine operators when parts are out of spec — a collaborative role, not just pass/fail inspection
• Support ISO 9001 quality standards

Requirements:

• 5+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
• Machining background with the ability to read prints
• Hands-on comparator experience (required)
• Familiarity with hand-tool inspection equipment: micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, Mahr gages, bore gages, thread gages
• Strong GD&T understanding and attention to detail
• Basic math skills

Nice to have:

• Keyence vision inspection system experience (big plus)
• Sunnen bore gage experience
• Hexagon CMM experience
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards
