Quality Inspector

Job Summary:

Our client in Tustin, CA is looking for a Quality Inspector. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do:

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for: 

  • Maintain a high-quality relationship with the manufacturing team they are supporting.
  • Support manufacturing Build in Quality initiative by providing a last line of defense inspection of the product for their area.
  • Execute product and process validation / inspection plans.
  • Identify and contain suspect defective material.
  • Have the potential to utilize advanced metrology equipment to control processes and identify defects.
  • Inspect, test or measure components, products and materials being produced. 
  • Initiate and participate in quality related continuous improvement (Kaizen) projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve the quality culture within responsible area.
  • May perform other duties as assigned Potential business travel to support product /process development at company  - no direct reports. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

What You Will Need:

Basics:

  • Manufacturing/assembly/quality process and/or automotive repair and/or mechanical experience (+2 years preferred). 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to communicate in a high-pressure environment.
  • In the performance of the duties of this job the employee is required to travel (frequency). 
  • Drive a motor vehicle. 
  • Communicate using telephone and e-mail.
  • Salary range: 29k - 42k annual. 

Preferred:

  • Pre-production vehicles and High volume manufacturing experience.
  • Problem solving experience.
  • Continuous improvement process experience.
  • Electrical vehicles features knowledge.
  • Customer quality expectations understanding.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control / control charts High school education or equivalent (Bachelor Degree preferred). 
  • 2+ years of manufacturing, assembly, or quality experience.
