Job Overview:

About the Role

Schwing America is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will ensure product quality by conducting inspections, testing, auditing, and troubleshooting. You will play a key part in maintaining compliance with standards, identifying nonconformities, and recommending corrective actions to support our commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct piece-part inspections to verify compliance with dimensional standards and codes.

  • Perform in-process inspections of weldments and maintain accurate records.

  • Complete final inspections of vendor weldments for conformance and compliance.

  • Utilize precision measuring and testing equipment; maintain equipment in proper working order.

  • Create and maintain inspection reports and initiate nonconformance reports.

  • Review engineering change orders (ECOs) for correctness.

  • Recommend product safety and quality improvements.

  • Communicate with vendors regarding quality concerns with materials and components.

  • Inspect incoming trucks and contract units, documenting specifications and VIN numbers.

  • Provide inspection reports to internal teams and GmbH on contract unit quality.

  • Support other duties and assignments as needed.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • 2-year technical degree in quality assurance technology or related field.

  • Previous experience in welding and/or quality inspection.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, Excel, and Word preferred.

  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, hydraulic, and electrical schematics.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and handle a high workload.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Perform inspections on the production floor using testing equipment (70%).

  • Perform computer and office work (25%).

  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions (5%).

  • Engage with internal and external teams as part of quality processes.

Monday through Friday 6am to 2:30pm
