About the Role
Schwing America is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will ensure product quality by conducting inspections, testing, auditing, and troubleshooting. You will play a key part in maintaining compliance with standards, identifying nonconformities, and recommending corrective actions to support our commitment to excellence.
Conduct piece-part inspections to verify compliance with dimensional standards and codes.
Perform in-process inspections of weldments and maintain accurate records.
Complete final inspections of vendor weldments for conformance and compliance.
Utilize precision measuring and testing equipment; maintain equipment in proper working order.
Create and maintain inspection reports and initiate nonconformance reports.
Review engineering change orders (ECOs) for correctness.
Recommend product safety and quality improvements.
Communicate with vendors regarding quality concerns with materials and components.
Inspect incoming trucks and contract units, documenting specifications and VIN numbers.
Provide inspection reports to internal teams and GmbH on contract unit quality.
Support other duties and assignments as needed.
Education/Experience:
2-year technical degree in quality assurance technology or related field.
Previous experience in welding and/or quality inspection.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, Excel, and Word preferred.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, hydraulic, and electrical schematics.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Physical Demands:
Perform inspections on the production floor using testing equipment (70%).
Perform computer and office work (25%).
