Description
Job Summary
Inspect incoming parts receipts, first part, first article, in-process parts, finished components, and assist with sub assembly and finished devices as needed. Verify that parts conform to their specifications. Identify, segregate, and inform the appropriate people when there are any non-conformances with the parts. Identify all measurement equipment needed for the inspection of parts.
Essential Job Functions
· Perform incoming inspections for manufacturing
· Perform 1st piece and final quality inspections on parts produced in the machine shop
· Perform quality inspections for the paint department
· Develop a working knowledge of required inspection and testing activities
· Complete all job responsibilities in a manner that does not put yourself or other individuals in an unsafe situation and wear all PPE (personal protective equipment) where required
· Participate, support, and comply with all Health, Safety, Quality, and Lean initiatives and requirements
· Read, understand, and follow all Quality policies
Secondary Job Functions
· Train as backup inspector for finished device and sub assembly inspections for optics department
· Assist with quality system improvements and system documentation
· Interact with manufacturing, engineering and technical support personnel to identify, isolate, and troubleshoot quality related concerns
Requirements
Job Requirements
· H.S. Diploma
· Proficient using measurement tools and gauges
· Work overtime as needed
· Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office
· Interact effectively with all levels of the organization
Skills/knowledge
· Ability to read and understand part drawings
· Ability to use measuring tools such as Micrometers, Dial Calipers, Height Gages, Thread and Plug gages
· Ability to use the English measurement system when reading drawings and measuring parts
· Meticulous attention to detail
· Good documentation habits
· Strong work ethic
· Strong teamwork skills
· Time management skills and ability to work well with others
Additional Skills/knowledge
· Previous CMM experience, a plus
· Experience working with ISO/QS-9001 Quality Systems or FDA cGMP systems, a plus
· Previous calibration and gauge control experience, a plus
Physical Demands
· Some bending, stooping, and standing
· Sitting for long periods of time
· Lifting heavy objects
