Job Summary: The Quality Inspector ensures all sheet metal parts and assemblies meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. This role involves in-process and final inspections, documenting results, and collaborating with production teams to resolve quality issues.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections using precision tools.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process checks, and final inspections.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications.
  • Document inspection results using forms, checklists, and digital systems.
  • Identify non-conforming materials and support corrective actions.
  • Tag and segregate nonconforming products.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Maintain calibration records for inspection equipment.
  • Support internal audits and customer inspections.
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement. 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; technical training or certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in sheet metal or fabrication.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T symbols.
  • Proficient in using precision measurement instruments.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality management systems is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing floor setting with exposure to fabrication equipment and machinery.
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • May involve working around noise, dust, and varying temperatures
