Job Overview:

  • Job Summary:The Quality Inspector is responsible for making sure products meet the Colson Group quality standard, and promote a quality culture throughout the facility. Examine shipments of inventory and raw goods, measure specifications of samples in each production run and train team members to refine production quality. Direct and support plant quality function efforts in development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives that will reduce the cost of quality and meet/exceed customer requirements.Primary Responsibilities:·Supports implementation of Colson Group quality procedures at the DC operation·Document inspection, certification and other applicable data to drive continuous improvement activities and processes·Support DC Operations systemic continuous improvement initiatives as necessaryAssists with new hire training and ensures new employees understand quality policiesMaintains appropriate recordsGather information and generate required and/or requested reportsWork with employees to resolve quality issues and techniquesAbides by all established organizational policies, rules, and regulationsPerforms other related duties and projects as assignedSkills/Requirements·Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, APQP, PPAP and 8D ProcessesWorking knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer and business-related software, including Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)·Use gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure products·Must be good with numbers and able to work with several part numbers simultaneously·Review blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods·Willingness to learn additional quality skills through educational opportunitiesIndependent workerAbility to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basisGood interpersonal and communication skillsStrong organizational skills and must be detail orientedConducts themselves in a professional mannerExperience:·One to three years experience in Quality operations·Familiar with warehouse, manufacturing, distribution center, settingEducation:Minimum high school graduate or equivalent·Quality certification strongly desired

  • First Article Inspection (FAI)
  • Basic Computer Skills
