Job Overview:

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Quality Inspector in our North Kingstown, RI facility. 

  • Process ownership of applicable quality procedures and metrics to support the Quality Management System
  • Update, review and propose changes to the Quality Management System.
  • Quality document and record control including accomplishing revisions, distribution and filing completed documents and records for ease of retrieval.
  • Provide support for Operations and Sales quality processes
  • Perform Internal Audits and maintain the audit schedule.
  • Ensure measuring devices in use are calibrated and properly identified
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection to verify compliance with order requirements; accomplish required recording of acceptance or rejection.
  • Monitor operations at various stages of production to verify acceptable quality.
  • Sign-off approval on shop travelers and other records as needed signifying acceptance or rejection of operation or product.
  • Manage nonconformances at all phases of manufacturing by identifying, segregating, recording and assisting in providing disposition. May result in trend analysis and corrective action assignment. 
  • Issue and manage the closure of Corrective Action Reports.
  • Accomplish root cause analysis and provide corrective actions with follow-up.
  • Team member in maintaining the Approved Suppliers List.
  • Provide input when required reviewing incoming customer requests for quote and purchase orders for quality requirements.
  • Have basic knowledge of personnel safety and work with EHS as required to maintain or improve the work environment
  • Interact with other ASC-ES brand personnel due to process overlap including calibration and engineering.
  • Act as host for FM Global and UL onsite product audits. Provide samples for testing when requested by agency.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to use measuring equipment such as measuring tapes, calipers and pressure gauges.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
  • Ability to advise and instruct in quality processes and procedures.
  • Ability to identify problems, collect data, evaluate and report conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret design/manufacturing drawings
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Willing and able to work overtime and Saturdays as required.
  • Knowledge with systems such as; ISO 9001 / ISO 17025 / IATF 16969 / AS9100 or similar Quality Management System.
  • Experience with management of Quality procedures, instructions, forms and records.
  • Experience with Internal Auditing including defining scope, creating checklist, reporting and assigning corrective actions.
