The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for monitoring and verifying that products and processes meet defined quality standards throughout fabrication, machining, painting, and assembly. This role ensures compliance with internal quality standards and client expectations.
Job Functions
- Develop, maintain, and implement QA policies and procedures across fabrication, machining, painting, and assembly.
- Perform inspections and tests on materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with AHI and client quality standards.
- Document and report QA activities, test results, and nonconformances clearly and accurately.
- Conduct spot checks and internal audits to ensure best practices are followed.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and report findings to the Plant Manager.
- Inspect specific production details, including:
- Weld quality in fabrication.
- Sanded edge compliance in manufacturing.
- Machined hole accuracy using dial calipers.
- Paint finish quality using appropriate tools for mill spec verification.
- Ensuring no bare spots or paint runs before assembly.
- Collect, analyze, and manage quality data to inform production decisions.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance, inspection, or auditing in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to use calipers, tape measures, and other precision tools.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding of thread sizes and part specifications.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and SolidWorks (or similar CAD software).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, decision-making, and judgment skills.
- Team player with a customer-service mindset.
- Experience with SolidWorks and 3D CAD software a bonus.
