Job Description
Power Drives, Inc. is a Buffalo‑based manufacturer specializing in custom‑engineered hose, tube, and fluid conveyance systems for a wide range of industrial and mobile equipment applications. Founded in 1946, PDI is known for delivering high‑quality, reliable solutions backed by strong engineering expertise and decades of industry experience.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
Pay Rate: $20–$21 per hour. Employees have opportunities for salary increases through our tiered training program, as well as monthly performance incentives.
Objective
To support production through testing, inspection, and auditing of products, processes, and tools with the highest level of quality and efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of quality inspection experience or 1 year of service in Production at Power Drives, Inc.
- Experience in blueprint reading
- Experience with measurement tools and techniques (e.g., calipers, micrometers, scales)
- Familiarity with Coordinate Measuring Devices

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute assignments as given by the Supervisor or Group Leader
- Immediately report equipment, process, material, safety, or quality concerns
- Follow all work instructions, policies, safety guidelines, and procedures
- Meet or exceed all quality and quantity requirements
- Perform product inspections at required intervals
- Validate first‑piece production runs
- Conduct customer‑required quality testing
- Ensure compliance with customer and quality system requirements
- Assist in internal and external audits
- Perform process and inspection audits
- Use measurement tools such as calipers, scales, gage blocks, fixtures, and 3D measuring devices
- Train other team members as assigned
- Maintain housekeeping in assigned areas
- Participate in problem‑solving, continuous improvement, and customer complaint resolution
- Read and interpret product blueprints and technical data
- Perform basic preventative equipment maintenance
- Accept reassignment to other departments as needed
Physical Requirements
This position requires physical strength and endurance, including repetitive tasks, lifting up to 40 lbs., standing for long periods, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and working in a fast‑paced production environment.
