Job Description

Summary/Objective
 The Quality Assurance Inspector plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations through inspection, measurement, and ERP system data entry. This position ensures that products meet quality standards and customer specifications by using precision measurement tools, reviewing technical drawings, and documenting production data. The inspector will work collaboratively with production leadership to maintain safety, efficiency, and compliance throughout the manufacturing process.

Essential Functions

  1. Perform inspections using indicators, micrometers, calipers, height meters, hardness testers, and other precision measurement tools.
  2. Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to validate part conformance.
  3. Accurately enter inspection data and production metrics into ERP systems and digital records.
  4. Follow detailed work instructions and apply quality standards with minimal supervision.
  5. Communicate effectively with production teams and supervisors to ensure quality targets are met.
  6. Identify and escalate safety or equipment maintenance concerns in a timely manner.
  7. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company protocols.
  8. Utilize overhead cranes for material handling and setup.
  9. Safely bend, lift, and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
  10. Stand and perform job duties on foot for extended periods.

Competencies

  1. Proficiency using precision measuring tools and executing shop floor inspection procedures.
  2. Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  3. Familiarity with ERP systems and accurate digital recordkeeping.
  4. Safe and effective operation of overhead cranes for material movement.
  5. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
  6. Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, industrial equipment, and related hazards. Adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires standing, bending, and lifting materials up to 50 pounds, with extended periods of time spent on foot.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours are generally Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime or weekend work to support production schedules.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Experience using precision measurement tools in a manufacturing environment.
  3. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  4. Proficient in basic computer and data entry skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience working in a quality assurance or inspection role within a manufacturing setting.
  2. Familiarity with ERP systems and shop floor data entry.
  3. Certification in quality inspection, manufacturing, or a related field.
  4. Knowledge of safety and quality compliance standards.
