Quality Inspector Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Quality Inspector will perform on- and offline quality inspections on parts, process, and packaging for series production and new programs. Ensure the quality standards are met or exceeded for the customer. Inspect parts in order to prevent additional production of scrap parts.   

 

JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • On- and off-line quality inspection of the following product:
    • Safe Launch of new program parts
    • Non-Safe Launch Product:
      • Parts with recent customer defects/issues
      • Parts with known history of quality issues
  • Knowledge of part work instructions including correct packaging and labeling
  • Communication with Production & Logistics to prioritize inspection order
  • Communication with Program Management/Quality department for new program specifications
  • Communication with Team Leaders/Quality Techs/Shift Supervisors for any potential quality issues
  • Respond and contain any supplier issues on the floor, taking parts to hold cage
  • May be asked to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Reports Data Entry including SPC
  • Create and follow up NCMR’s until closure
  • Ensure Quality Alerts & Deviations applying to parts that are running are posted and followed by operators
  • Perform Product and Process Audits
  • Review and validate scrap parts quality criteria as well us record accuracy
  • Comply with all Techniplas Group Environmental Requirements and Policies
  • Report all Environmental incidents to immediate supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma/GED Required.
  • One to three months plastic injection molding experience and/or training is preferred. 
  • Plastic Injection Molding background is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience in Quality inspection in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a reliable, responsible team player focused on producing a top-quality product is required.
