Summer Intern - Quality Engineer 

Location: Newton, NC
Department: Engineering / Quality
Duration: Summer Internship (10–12 Weeks)
Reports To: Quality Engineering Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Engineer Summer Intern to support prototype builds, new product launches, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience in quality engineering, measurement systems, data analysis, and supplier quality processes. The intern will work closely with cross-functional engineering and quality teams to ensure products meet specifications and support continuous improvement efforts. Local candidates preferred, no relocation offered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support all prototype builds and new projects, including measurement of parts and documentation of results.
  • Enter and organize quality-related data for internal reporting and analysis.
  • Assist with general project tasks as assigned, including supplier quality data collection and review.
  • Contribute to Non-Right-First-Time (NRFT) or Scrap Reduction projects, depending on operational needs.
  • Work with engineers to identify issues, verify part conformance, and support problem-solving activities.
  • Participate in quality checks, audits, or other activities that ensure product and process compliance.
     

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail with interest in quality systems and measurement.
  • Proficient in Excel; comfort working with data is a plus.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to take initiative on assigned tasks.
