Job Description
You will be the Quality Engineer (CMM Programmer) for the Precision Measurement Team. Our team is responsible for ensuring accurate measurement and validation of hardware components across missile, launcher, and vehicle programs.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Quality Engineer (CMM Programmer) you will be responsible for driving quality excellence through measurement strategy, inspection development, and root‑cause resolution.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Determine optimal measurement techniques and develop work instructions for part and tooling inspections.
- Perform First Article Inspections, FMEA, gauge R&R studies, and lead corrective and preventive action initiatives.
- Analyze product defects and process failures, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, CMM operators, tool technicians, and customer representatives to ensure seamless quality integration.
- Support CMM maintenance contracts, calibration, and the overall Quality Management System.

Basic Qualifications
STEM degree at Bachelors level or higher or equivalent experience/combined education.
Ability to acquire and maintain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance
Effective interpersonal skills and communication Skills
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Ethical integrity and business professionalism
Desired skills
STEM degree at Bachelors level or higher preferred.
GD&T (ASME Y14.5) training/experience/knowledge
CMM programming experience (Zeiss Calypso preferred)
Precision measurement - open setup
Demonstrated initiative and accountability
Well organized with the ability to track multiple activities and prioritize tasks based on importance
Proficient in collection, analysis, and use of data to make informed decisions
Lean/Six Sigma techniques and Statistical Process Control concepts
First Article Inspections (FAI), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R), Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action (RCA/CA)
Quality Management System exposure (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.)
CNC knowledge
Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Experience in SAP

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $81,600 - $143,865. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
