A Snapshot of What You'll Do:
The Quality Engineer, Product
is responsible for all technical matters concerning Anton Paar QuantaTec products, including:
- Technical product responsibility and support for series products over the entire product life cycle
- The functionality, specifications and quality of serial released instruments
- Participating in projects for product development
- Using product knowledge to drive improvements focusing on quality, output, and/or cost reduction
The Impact You’ll Make:
The Quality Engineer, Product is a self-starter who has excellent troubleshooting skills and engages with intercompany teams to solve problems. Job duties include:
- Granting technical approvals such as special approvals and approval of technical changes to serial products
- Taking responsibility for all instrument-specific, quality-relevant, and technical specifications of the products
- Ensuring instrument safety and adapting products to new norms and standards (together with CE)
- Handling component testing and technical release
- Conducting the testing and verification of existing instruments (not applicative)
- Conducting error analysis and systematic solutions in case of problems to maintain process and product quality
- Identifying and leading improvement opportunities by utilizing Lean Six Sigma thinking by utilizing tools i.e. DMAIC, Kaizen, 8D, Gemba, etc.
- Performing regular monitoring and analysis of production costs and driving improvement projects involving cross functional teams (together with CR, REP, and production)
- Creating and maintaining product and production documents
- Participating in projects during development according to PEP
- Implementing the serial transition of new products including documentation
- Acting as link between development, production and Customer Support with regard to technical implementation and questions
- Handling the verification and validation of products with a focus on Software and Firmware
- Training of Customer Support, Repair and Assembly, QA or in some cases, other functional areas
- Creating Customer-specific adaptations for customized projects
- Cooperating closely with development, production, service, purchasing and product management
- Handles 3rd level support for customer inquiries
- May be required to travel to other Anton Paar facilities domestically or internationally (< 5%)
- All other duties as assigned
Education and Experience we require:
The Quality Engineer, Product typically requires a combination of experience, education, training, certifications and skills. This role requires the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years’ experience in the field of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or electronics
- 6+ years of experience in the domains of research and development, product engineering, manufacturing engineering
Preferred skills include:
- Knowledge of scientific instrumentation technology a plus
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
- Experience with approvals / certifications (e.g. CE, NRTL, GS)
- Experience with SAP
- ASQ CQE

What We Do:
Anton Paar QuantaTec manufactures instruments for characterization of powders and porous materials using techniques like physisorption, chemisorption, gas pycnometry, mercury intrusion porosimetry, capillary flow porometry amongst others.
Supervision Exercised
This role is an independent contributor who is a member of multiple teams and does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, observe, communicate and handle items such as computers, machinery and other equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Position requires the ability to obtain a Passport for international travel.
