Job Description

You will be the Quality Engineering Associate Manager for the GMLRS Program. Our team is responsible for ensuring the quality of products delivered to customers.



What You Will Be Doing


As the Quality Engineering Associate Manager you will be responsible for reviewing documentation related to manufacturing processes, supporting Integrated Product Teams, analyzing and resolving process issues, leading a team of Quality Engineers, and managing Earned Value Management System work packages.



Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:



  • Reviewing documentation related to manufacturing processes

  • Supporting Integrated Product Teams with quality data and information

  • Analyzing and resolving process issues

  • Leading and developing a team of Quality Engineers

  • Managing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) work packages

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.


Basic Qualifications

-STEM Degree at the Bachelor level or above or equivalent experience/combined education.

-Ability to obtain a security clearance.

-Experience with Payload & Propulsion Systems

-Engineering or Quality experience developing methods/ processes, work instructions, and procedures for the inspection of manufactured products.

-Ability to interpret drawings and specifications to develop and apply quality test and inspection methods and translate into work instructions.

-Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, contracts that will enable development and review of QE processes, and related performance metrics.

-Demonstrated understanding of audit techniques.

-Demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical/ process issues varying from basic to very complex.

-Experience in disposition of non-conforming products and failure review boards.

-Experience with process capability analysis and interpretation, gage R&R, or measurement system analysis.

-Advanced experience in Geometric Dimension and Tolerance.

-Knowledge of Configuration and Data Management.

-Strong interpersonal skills that promote teamwork and collaboration across multiple functions and motivate support personnel to achieve common goals.

-Ability to travel (typically around 25%-50%)

Desired skills

-STEM Degree at the Bachelors or Masters Level highly preferred.

-SAP or Apriso Application Experience

-Lean/ Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification

-Special Process Engineering Experience

-ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/ or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA)

-Advanced AS9100 Interpretation and Application Experience

-Experience Working with Government Customers

-Experience with performing AS9102 First Article Inspections or AS9145 APQP & PPAP.

-Experience with the DD250 process.

-Experience working Quality support on a manufacturing floor.

-Effective Communication Skills - written, oral, listening, and technical writing.

-Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.

-Strong knowledge of industry recognized Quality systems such International (ISO), aerospace (AS), and FAA regulations.

-Statistical Process Control (SPC)/ Key Characteristics (KC) Experience.

-Test and Inspection Equipment Experience.

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Security Clearance Information

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $99,700 - $175,835. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $114,700 - $198,720. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
