Job Description

You will be the Quality Engineer for the THAAD production program team, which drives continuous improvement and proactive risk management. Our team is responsible for delivering high-quality products to customers, and you will play a key role in ensuring the effectiveness of our Quality Engineering activities.

What You Will Be Doing
As the Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for assuring the quality of our products through validations, performance parameter characterization, and risk management.

Your responsibilities will include:

-Identifying process variations and nonconformities to create innovative solutions
-Providing systemic support for issue resolution and driving corrective actions
-Supporting Make Site requests, customer needs, and program management activities
-Developing technical solutions to complex problems and providing quality engineering liaison support
-Ensuring contract flow-down requirements are implemented and verified
-Reviewing manufacturing process documentation to ensure quality products

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance. A company-sponsored interim secret is required to start.

Basic Qualifications

-STEM degree at the bachelors level or higher.

-Ability to obtain a secret clearance.

-An understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Specifications, Contracts that will enable development and review of QE Processes, and related Performance Metrics.

-Must be able to identify and document Make Site's quality deficiencies and ensure effective corrective action.

-Ability to focus on continual improvement practices using causal analysis tools to drive corrective and preventive actions.

-Experience in disposition of nonconforming

Desired skills

-Demonstrated experience in project management from idea creation, to team involvement, thru execution and closeout of actions.

-A basic understanding of the MFC SAP and P2P business systems.

-ASQ Certification or Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt/Black Belt).

-Experience with performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements.

-Strong understanding in AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.

-Demonstrated Leadership, Customer Relationship Management skills.

-Background in Electrical components and/or mechanical assemblies

- Shop floor experience

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Security Clearance Information

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $67,000 - $117,990. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $77,000 - $133,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
