Job Overview:

A well-established precision manufacturing company in Connecticut is seeking a technically strong Quality Engineer with experience in aerospace manufacturing and AS9100 environments. This individual will play a key role in driving continuous improvement across quality systems, supporting engineering and production teams, and leading deep-dive root cause investigations. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on quality background and the ability to build and improve inspection documentation, measurement processes, and overall quality performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead deep-dive root cause analysis investigations and drive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)

  • Partner closely with Engineering and Production to support process improvements and quality initiatives

  • Develop and maintain inspection documentation, procedures, and quality work instructions

  • Create and update inspection plans and standard inspection procedures

  • Perform and support Gage R&R studies and measurement system analysis (MSA)

  • Support PPAP documentation and customer-specific quality requirements

  • Develop and maintain SPC programs to monitor process capability and drive improvements

  • Lead or support FMEA development and risk mitigation activities

  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and ongoing compliance with AS9100 standards

  • Ensure proper documentation control, traceability, and revision management across production

Required Qualifications

  • Strong technical quality background within a manufacturing environment

  • Proven experience leading root cause analysis and corrective action efforts

  • Experience developing inspection documentation and procedures

  • Hands-on experience with Gage R&R / MSA

  • Knowledge of PPAP documentation and related deliverables

  • Working knowledge of SPC tools and process capability

  • Experience participating in or leading FMEA activities

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering and Operations teams

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred

  • AS9100 environment experience highly preferred

  • Experience supporting customer audits and regulated quality systems

  • Precision machining / CNC manufacturing experience is a plus
