We are partnering with a well-established precision manufacturing company supporting the aerospace industry that is seeking an experienced, hands-on Quality Engineer. This position will have a strong focus on CMM/Metrology, process control, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.

The Quality Engineer will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Inspection, and Quality leadership to reduce process variation, improve product quality, and prevent recurring nonconformances. The ideal candidate comes from a precision machining or aerospace manufacturing environment and is comfortable working directly on the manufacturing floor—not solely behind a desk. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support CMM programming, troubleshooting, inspection strategy, and measurement-system improvements
  • Analyze CMM and inspection data to identify trends, variation, and potential manufacturing issues
  • Develop and improve Control Plans, inspection plans, PFMEAs, and process-control documentation
  • Utilize SPC, process capability studies, and statistical quality tools to improve manufacturing performance

  • Lead investigations into internal and customer nonconformances, including NCR/NCM, MRB, containment, and disposition
  • Perform root-cause analysis utilizing 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D, and other structured problem-solving methods
  • Develop, implement, and verify corrective actions
  • Drive improvements aimed at reducing scrap, rework, defects, and customer escapes

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in aerospace, precision machining, or other high-precision manufacturing
  • Hands-on experience with CMM programming and dimensional inspection
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings
  • Experience with SPC, process capability, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Knowledge of FAI / AS9102 requirements
  • Strong understanding of AS9100 and aerospace quality requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred
