Salary:$90,000 - $95,000 Annually (Based on experience)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer with significant experience in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Quality Control and Quality Assurance and a passion for ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance processes, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives. The remote leadership structure requires a self-sufficient and independent professional who can own quality decisions and accountability on-site without day-to-day supervision.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection duties, but not limited to analyzing data metrics to further implement and maintain processes improvement initiatives for the effectiveness of the Quality Management Systems (QMS), to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct routine audits to assess areas for improvement and ensure adherence to established procedures.
  • Manage documentation and records related to quality assurance activities, including process maps, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues and enhance overall process performance.
  • Develop and execute quality assurance protocols and inspection plans to ensure product quality and consistency.
  • Perform inspections and tests on in-process products, and finished goods to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Utilize statistical tools and techniques, select appropriate AQL Sampling methodology to monitor and control process variability and ensure product quality.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure quality requirements are met throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and products, ensuring quality considerations are integrated from the start.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and customers to resolve quality issues and ensure their requirements are understood and met.
  • Provide guidance to production and operations staff on quality assurance processes, QMS procedures, and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness throughout the organization.
  • Perform AS9102 First Article Inspections
  • Assist in management of Safety records and requirements specific to the building. Foster safety based mentality and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with QMS, ISO 9001, AS9100, and AS9120 requirements.

Required Background

  • Associate's or higher degree from an accredited institution is required (Engineering, Science, Biology, or related STEM discipline preferred).

  • 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering within the manufacturing industry.

  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS); compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and AS9120 is required.

  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).

  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality control tools.

  • Ability to analyze complex data and identify trends, root causes, and solutions to quality issues.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, capable of developing effective corrective and preventive actions.

  • Keen attention to detail to ensure all quality standards and requirements are met consistently.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, suppliers, and customers.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build positive working relationships.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and projects efficiently.

  • Interpret various engineering drawing schematics.

  • Ability to recognize GD&T symbols, interpret the GD&T symbols and apply its application.

  • Understand coordinate systems, datums and alignment.

  • Utilize sophisticated quality control inspection equipment such as CMMs and its software.
