Summary(What/Why/Coverage)-Main Activities:
This is a key leadership position that is responsible for Quality Control and ensures Quality Systems are in
place and maintained so that product conforms to specification and is fit for use. The Quality Engineer
manages plant-wide systems, ensuring compliance with the Fitesa Management System (FMS).
· Key Responsibilities (What/How):
Complies with site safety rules and is a role model for Simpsonville site Safety.
· Maintains workspaces in alignment with Fitesa OLA systems as outlined in Fitesa Management
System (FMS).
· Maintain Product and Customer Specifications.
· Responsible for developing and implementing new test methods.
· Responsible for trouble shooting issues with existing methods.
· Manage statistical process controls and charting.
· Responsible for the continual improvement of product release process, ensuring nonconforming
product (substandard report and quality hold material) is quickly identified and properly
dispositioned.
· Ensure timely follow up and completion of Customer Complaints.
· Lead Complaint Investigations inside the operation and with customers.
· Verify effective root cause / corrective action in the Customer Complaint System.
· Lead and participate in audits (FMS; customers; etc.).
· Lead and manage the Case Management System and Document Control System.
· Manage Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) charting for the quality metrics as part of the overall FMS. · Provide non-routine quality testing and reporting as needed (Customer requested quality reports, process trials, etc.). · Manage the Pest Control program. · Conduct training with the operation regarding Quality. · Manage the Validation program. · Generate raw material specifications and handle them inside the Document Control System.
Requirements
Core Competencies:
· Statistical knowledge a must.
· Have previous experience with laboratory test equipment.
· Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Mini Tab.
· Experience in auditing.
· Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma training a plus.
· Understanding of Quality Assurance/Improvement tools and techniques and Quality Management
Systems.
· Proven troubleshooting ability.

· Ability to manage people, communicate with operators.

Technical Competencies:
· Demonstrated competency with industry quality standards [e.g., WSP, ASTM, and EDANA].
· Demonstrated competency with problem solving techniques [e.g., Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5-
Whys, Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Analytical Trouble Shooting (ATS)].
· Demonstrated competency with quality management tools/techniques and their applications [e.g.,
ISO, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Gage R&R, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, and
Mistake-Proofing Tools.
Physical Demands:
· Standing for long periods of time.
· Lift up to 50lbs.
· Climb ladders and steps continuously.
· Work in areas with a continuous temperature that exceeds 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
