Quality Engineer serves as the quality owner for assigned product lines and is responsible for ensuring product compliance, customer satisfaction, and manufacturing process effectiveness throughout the product lifecycle.
Based in Stafford, Texas, this role partners closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Customer Care to drive continuous improvement, resolve quality issues, reduce risk, and enhance overall business performance. The position has direct responsibility for improving customer quality metrics, reducing the cost of poor quality, and ensuring compliance with applicable customer, regulatory, and industry requirements.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Lead investigations of customer complaints, nonconformances, and manufacturing quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify effectiveness of implemented solutions.
- Analyze quality data and lead initiatives to improve customer quality metrics (PPM, response time) and internal quality metrics (FPY, scrap, rework, COPQ).
- Utilize FMEA, Control Plans, Process Mapping, SPC, and risk assessment tools to identify and mitigate quality risks.
- Support customer audits, supplier quality activities, and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing processes, product quality, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and deliver quality-related training while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Support automation projects, quality digitalization, reporting, and data analytics initiatives.
For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related related technical field.
- Minimum 2+ years of Quality Engineering experience within valve manufacturing, pressure equipment, or a related industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting customer complaints, machining, assembly, testing, inspection, and manufacturing process monitoring.
- Knowledge of ASME Codes, PED, NDT methods, and applicable industry standards.
- Proficient in ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and audit processes.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
- Experience with problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, DMAIC, and Six-Step Method.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Experience with automation and digitalization projects is preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; Power BI, Minitab, and ERP system experience preferred.
