Job Overview:

Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an advanced manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled Quality Engineer – APQP. This role is responsible for leading Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for new product launches, driving continuous process improvement initiatives, and ensuring products meet customer and regulatory quality standards throughout the development lifecycle.

Job Duties

  • Lead APQP activities including Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Process FMEAs, Control Plans, and supporting documentation for assigned programs
  • Coordinate and facilitate APQP meetings while tracking open actions and program milestones
  • Support new product introduction activities by ensuring manufacturing processes align with engineering requirements
  • Develop validation test methods, execute product testing, and generate detailed performance test reports
  • Serve as the quality representative during customer program reviews throughout product development
  • Perform quality inspections and establish testing methods for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements
  • Manage supplier PPAP activities and provide on-site supplier support when required
  • Support prototype development, testing, and production readiness activities
  • Lead process improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Support manufacturing operations at supplier and partner facilities
  • Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and environmental standards

Skills & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or High School Diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years of manufacturing quality experience
  • Experience with APQP methodology and AS9145 requirements
  • Knowledge of AS9100D, IATF 16949, and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems
  • Experience developing PFMEAs, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, and PPAP documentation
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis and process capability tools
  • Experience utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies including 8D, 5 Why, and Ishikawa
  • Experience supporting quality, engineering, and supply chain functions within a regulated manufacturing environment

Desired

  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) programs
  • Familiarity with systems-based engineering and product development processes
  • Experience working with suppliers on quality improvement and production readiness
  • Knowledge of vehicle development or highly regulated government programs
  • Experience developing validation test procedures and performance testing
  • Proven success leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience working within multinational manufacturing organizations
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance, if required
