We are seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to support and drive quality initiatives within a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems while ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong CMM (PC-DMIS) experience, along with demonstrated ownership of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and containment activities from start to finish—not just administrative involvement.
Lead and manage Quality Systems to ensure product and process compliance
Own and drive APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and launch activities from initiation through customer approval
Program and operate CMM using PC-DMIS software to support inspection and validation
Troubleshoot production issues in collaboration with Engineering and Operations teams
Analyze complex quality data and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
Develop and implement sampling plans, inspection methods, and quality documentation
Perform internal, supplier, and layered process audits
Maintain and update Corrective Action Logs and ensure timely closure
Support customer containment activities and respond to quality escapes
Conduct product inspections including:
Perform gauge calibration, repair, and maintenance across various measurement tools
Ensure proper use of GD&T and interpretation of engineering drawings
Track and report scrap and quality metrics
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations
Required Qualifications
Hands-on experience programming and operating CMM (PC-DMIS required)
Proven experience owning:
Strong ability to analyze and act on complex data sets
Experience with gage usage, troubleshooting, and repair
Solid understanding of:
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of quality engineering experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing
Familiarity with:
Experience working with OEM customers and supplier quality
