Summary & Objectives:

MKS is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our dynamic product development team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that quality is embedded in our designs from day one. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement, enhancing product reliability, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Principal Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive Product Development/New Product Introduction Quality deliverables through all phase gates.
  • Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of NPI products shipping to customers for evaluation, and beta trials.
  • Troubleshoot customer issues using structured 8D problem solving methods and diagnosing potentially complex issues. Drive critical issues with urgency and effectively communicate solutions to customers.
  • Prepare customer specific quality deliverables including first article inspection reports, audit support and resolution of action items, failure analysis reports and other deliverables as needed.
  • Demonstrate skills in preventive quality methods and compliance, statistical data analysis, critical thinking, structured problem solving (8D), the use of metrics to identify opportunities, and business process improvement.
  • Demonstrate skills in managing manufacturing quality issues, experience in setting up product, and process quality controls for the equipment assembly line in an NPI environment.
  • Monitor the entire NPI production cycle and perform regular tests to identify potential malfunctions as early as possible.
  • Collaborate on DFMEA, PFMEA activities with engineering and technical operations teams. Identify critical parts, assemblies and processes develop associated control plan(s).
  • Use statistical methodologies to analyze data and implement action plans.
  • Coach and lead cross-functional teams for Kaizen/Lean/Six Sigma improvement projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve NPI documentation.
  • Provide leadership on matters related to quality with counterparts in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
  • Work closely with supplier quality personnel in resolving customer complaints.
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 5% of Travel is required.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical or scientific discipline OR 4 years of related experience
  • 3+ years of experience in quality engineering in electronics manufacturing or related experience
  • Customer & Supplier Quality relationship management experience.
  • Experience with Quality and Reliability methodologies and tools such as PPAP, 8D, FAI, FMEA, DMAIC, Gauge R&R, DFx, DOE, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Experience and understanding of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality System Standard.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Lean, 6S, zero-defect manufacturing processes, inspection methods, and tools.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001 desired.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Pay Range: $80,000-110,000 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.

Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
