The Quality Engineer (QE) will lead continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems (QMS) with emphasis on the Riceville, IA facility through structured problem solving, managing for daily improvement (MDI), and Riceville Inspection Supervision.

YOUR IMPACT:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead Safety within the Quality team support Riceville Safety & Environmental initiatives
  • Supervise and effectively communicate with Riceville inspection team on day and 2nd shifts, flexing schedule on occasion for face-time support; with guidance from Inspection Manager
  • Lead inspectors at Production shift start, MDI, and develop inspection standard work
  • Optimize & approve staffing for coverage, cross train and build versatility
  • Manage Riceville quality defect data collection
  • Lead and participate in Built in Quality (BIQ) culture shift for non-conformance prevention and detection
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate inter-functionally with Employee Teams, Quality, Engineering, Global Procurement & Supply Chain (GPSC), Sales and Manufacturing to resolve quality related issues, deficiencies and improve processes.
  • Utilize and lead structured problem solving such as fishbone, five why, PDCA, A3, 8D and similar techniques.
  • Coordinate the resolution of quality issues. Respond to quality process nonconformance issues in an expedient manner. Analyze and lead implementation of effective solutions.
  • Construct quality data tracking, analysis, reporting, root cause investigation, corrective/preventative action & effectiveness verification, and develop quality standard operating procedures.
  • Subject matter expert in multiple quality areas, gain proficiency within a minimum of two platforms.
  • Facilitate quality led forums with various teams providing business impact, risk assessment and data-based guidance, identifying where there are largest opportunities to increase first pass yield, reduce rework or defects per unit, and achieve strategic deployment business targets.
  • Support supplier quality processes and interface with GPSC. Partner to investigate parts issues, coordinate measurements, work with Engineering, PPAP, manage receiving inspections quality audits and trouble shoot.
  • Lead portions of and contribute to maintenance of QMS and ISO certifications and compliance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field from an accredited institution OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience (including internship/co-op)

STAND OUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced training/experience in the use of statistical techniques and process improvement methods
  • Interpret basic technical drawings including characteristics such as views, title blocks, dimensioning, GD&T symbols, etc. Interpret specification requirements in relation to product and process characteristics
  • Must have experience with and be able to exhibit the use of structured problem-solving techniques utilizing computer applications
  • Lean manufacturing certification & CQE
  • Minimum 6 mo. Supervision experience

Pay Range:

$72,200.00 - $116,200.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
